Why would you want to become a Sponsor- WHY NOT?

The Sponsor program is a great way to help care for one of our German Shepherd Dogs, when you are unable to foster or adopt. Additionally, don't forget this program is TAX- DEDUCTIBLE!

The Sponsor Program offers 5 levels of Sponsorship:

      Cherub Level $10-$49
      Bronze Level $50 - $99
      Silver Level $100 - $299
      Gold Level $300 - $499
      Platinum $500 +

Here is how you can become a BrightStar Sponsor. IT’S EASY!

     

    Start by filling out our brief Sponsor Form in MS Word Format:

          Select three of our German Shepherd Dogs from our Animal page: We would prefer you to list your top 3 German Shepherd Dogs. The reason for picking 3 German Shepherd Dogs is because one may already be fully sponsored, and some dogs might not be posted long enough as they found their forever homes and were adopted.

 

           Select the level of sponsorship you can contribute.

 

           Send the form and donation to the Sponsorship Coordinator, the address is on the form. The Sponsorship Coordinator and the dog's foster family will keep you updated on your German Shepherd Dog.

Your donations will go a long way to support our German Shepherd Dogs in need. To give you an idea of what it costs for BrightStar to care for our dogs, the chart below covers expenses to care for a foster dog:

Food, Supplement (Nupro) and Treats $35.00 a month
Accessories (collars, leashes & tag) $10.00- $20.00
Vet Care Expenses
  Office visit, wellness exam & annual vaccinations (5 -Way & Rabies) $75 -$85 average
  Spay/ Neuter $100- $150 (higher in some geographic areas and mature females)
  Worming- Eliminates: hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms, coccidia, whipworms, etc. $20-$50 (depending on specific worm)
  External parasite treatment (flea and ticks), skin condition (usually mites) and grooming $15 - $35 from initial treatment/bath. Flea/Tick prevention (i.e. usually Advantage Plus or Frontline Plus) $15-$20 dollars per month.
  Heartworm (HW) treatment (if dog tested positive to HW)

$300- $600
  Other serious illness or hospitalization in isolation $400- $1,000+
* Boarding (off-peak) $20.00 - $30.00 per day. (peak) $30.00 - $40.00 per day
Basic obedience classes or other behavioral modification sessions $50 - $100
(Optional: Fosters who choose to attend obedience classes with their foster dog pay for this themselves).

* Dogs sometimes have to be boarded until a foster home becomes available.
